The Purpose of the Church

In this teaching series, we explore the biblical purpose of the church and what God designed His people to be. Many people see church as a building or a weekly event, but Scripture reveals something far greater. The church is a living body of believers called to worship God, make disciples, build authentic Christian community, and carry out the Great Commission.

Throughout this series, we examine what the Bible teaches about the purpose of the church by looking at the mission of the church, the role of discipleship, the importance of corporate worship, and how believers are called to serve both one another and the world. We look at foundational passages like Matthew 28, Acts 2, and Ephesians 4 to understand how the early church functioned and how that applies to the modern church today.

Whether you are new to church, exploring Christianity, or have been following Jesus for years, this series will help you understand:

  1. Why the church exists
  2. What the mission of the church really is
  3. How discipleship shapes spiritual growth
  4. Why Christian community matters
  5. How every believer plays a role in God’s kingdom

At Catalyst Christian, we believe the church is not just something you attend — it’s something you belong to and participate in. This series will help you discover how God has uniquely designed His church to impact Nicholasville, Jessamine County, and beyond.
